Diamond Upgrades & Jewellery Remodelling Brisbane

Jewellery can carry a story even when the design no longer feels like you. Xennox Diamonds helps Brisbane clients explore diamond upgrades, reset existing stones and remodel inherited or unworn jewellery into a custom piece.

The first step is an assessment. We inspect the condition, identity where practical, dimensions and suitability of stones and components before confirming what can be reused. From there, we develop a design and quote around your preferences, lifestyle and budget.

Ways to update your jewellery

• Reset an existing diamond or gemstone into a new ring, pendant or pair of earrings
• Change the centre-stone size, shape or quality with a newly selected diamond
• Rebuild a worn engagement ring or wedding ring in a new design
• Combine suitable stones from several sentimental pieces
• Add a halo, side stones or a different setting style
• Create a custom design around a loose diamond or gemstone

Diamond upgrades

An upgrade may mean a larger diamond, a different shape, stronger light performance, a higher colour or clarity grade, or simply a stone that better suits the new design. We can compare natural and laboratory-grown options and explain the grading information, proportions, visual trade-offs and price differences relevant to the selection.

Any trade-in or credit arrangement depends on the stone, documentation, condition and the current written program. It is not automatic, and a previous purchase price or valuation does not establish resale or trade-in value. Ask us to confirm the options available for your specific diamond.

Remodelling inherited and sentimental jewellery

Heirloom jewellery often combines emotional value with practical challenges such as worn settings, uncertain treatments or stones that are not suited to everyday wear. We can design around meaningful elements where they are structurally and technically suitable. Engraving or recognisable details may sometimes be preserved, photographed or reinterpreted in the new design.

Existing gemstones are not automatically safe to reset. They may have chips, abrasions, treatments or inclusions that influence durability. We will discuss these considerations and whether further testing or an independent report is appropriate.

Can the original gold or platinum be reused?

Existing precious metal has value, but directly remelting it into a new piece is not always the best manufacturing choice. Solder, mixed alloys, porosity and contamination can affect the quality of the result. Depending on the project, suitable components may be retained, or the old metal may be credited or refined while new metal is used for dependable construction. We will explain the proposed approach before quoting.

Our remodelling process

1. Consultation and assessment

Bring the jewellery and any grading reports or valuations. We discuss what matters to you and assess reusable elements.

2. Design and selection

We develop the concept, choose suitable stones and materials, and confirm the design details.

3. Quote and approval

You receive a written scope and price. Work begins after the design and quote are approved.

4. Making and setting

The piece is created and stones are set using methods appropriate to the design and materials.

5. Final review

We inspect the finished piece and provide care guidance and relevant documentation.

What remodelling can - and cannot - change

Remodelling can improve wearability, aesthetics and personal meaning. It does not necessarily increase the item’s financial value, and a valuation prepared for insurance is not a forecast of resale value. The finished result is governed by the approved design, the physical characteristics of the stones and the agreed scope.

Start your Brisbane jewellery redesign

Suitable stones or meaningful components may be combined. Each item must be assessed, and not every metal or gemstone can be reused directly.
You can consider either category for a new design. We explain the disclosure, grading and price considerations so you can choose knowingly.
Not necessarily. Remodelling is primarily a design and wearability decision. Insurance replacement value, sale value and sentimental value are different concepts.
Timing depends on design development, stone sourcing, approvals and workshop complexity. We provide an estimate with the project scope.
