Zig Zag Foundation supporting sick and underprivileged children
At Xennox Diamonds we believe that we have so much in our life to be truly grateful for. As a father of 4 healthy children (triplets + 1), I feel extremely blessed and honoured to be able to help such a worthy charity as the Zig Zag foundation.
Knowing that 100% of everything that we donate to ZIG ZAG goes to the children who truly need it, is a notable difference about the Zig Zag charity. Michelle and her dedicated team are an inspiration, dedicating all of their time voluntarily.
Over the years we have been supporting Zig Zag, I have seen many children fortunate enough to be helped by the foundation, and the profound impact that it has had on increasing the quality of their life and that of their entire family. I know that if ever any of my children needed support, I would want someone like the Zig Zag foundation help.
Each Year we donate two major prizes to Zig Zag, a $10,000 diamond bracelet for the gala ball and a $6,000 prize for the diamond lunch. So far Zig Zag has donated more than $800,000 to a multitude of worthy recipients. Please see the website for dates.
CEO Sleepout supporting Vinnies
The Vinnies CEO Sleepout takes place in every capital city across Australia on Thursday 21 June 2012. The event was created to highlight the plight of homelessness in Australia by challenging business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand for just one night.
In 2010 the event was launched nationally and exceeded expectations, attracting almost 700 CEOs in 7 cities nationally and raising $2.9 million to directly assist people experiencing homelessness.
The aim of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout is not only to raise funds, but raise awareness of homelessness. Our goal is not just to service the homeless, but to bring about an end to homelessness. The discomfort of sleeping on the streets is a fragment of the larger reality we hope to impart upon influential leaders of the community. With their help, and yours, we can fight the issue of homelessness together.
Having been involved since 2011, i have helped raise more than $12 000 for Vinnies. This is a cause that i do feel very passionately about. What i learnt from the previous years events, was that some of the people on the street are there through no fault of their own, just as a result of circumstance or bad luck.The people who live on the street are no different from you or I, they have families and people who care about them. See why i support the amazing work that Vinnies does.
Legacy supporting families
Having spent more than 10 years in the Army as an artillery officer, i have developed a strong association with the military. It is because I feel i have received so much from my time in the service, that i feel so passionate about giving something back to the defence force community.
Not only do defence members get our special defence force discount, but as an added bonus i would also like to make a donation from every defence force purchase to Legacy.
Please mention legacy when you make a purchase and a percentage of the sale will go to Legacy. Legacy do an amazing job, not just for the older war veterans, but also those affected by new conflicts, like those in Afghanistan.
I have pledged to donate a $10,000 diamond tennis bracelet at the annual Legacy Ball to help raise some much needed funds for Legacy.
Today Legacy’s caring and compassionate service assists over 100,000 widowsand 1,900 children and dependants with a disability.
Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Their support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today’s Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.
Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:
- the protection of individualsand families basic needs;
- advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
- assisting families through bereavement; and
- helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.For more information on Legacy visit www.legacy.com.au
